Myakka River State Park – Sarasota, Florida – Large Format Photography – Leafy Forrest

I have done many posts in the past on Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, Florida. I have talked with rangers all over the state of Florida and the census is the same, that Myakka River State Park is the gem of the state. There is so much to see and do. If you’re into photography, well I’ll see you in five years as there is so much to discover.

Now that I’m into shooting large format film, going to this park is like going for the first time. There are so many opportunities now that I’m hiking off the main road. For this adventure, that is what happened. I had the honor of shooting with award winning photographer Linda O’Neill. Since she was with me, I asked if she minded if we hiked back into the woods a bit. She was game. I also managed to con her into be a camera woman. We went back in aways and started to film and set up. However, once the camera was out of the bag, the shiny brass caught some eyes of folks from a distance and they came over to investigate. They were from the UK and were very nice folks, we must have talked about the area and cameras for 30 minutes or so. The gentleman was even going to go into his closet when he got home and dig out his father’s 35mm camera and look at shooing some film! You just never know where and when you are going to meet some great folks.

This is another YouTube video, however this one you will see what’s involved from start to finish. Since I had some help with the video, this freed me up to go over the steps. I know many of you have been with me since the start of this blog back in 2011, and I hope these are entertaining and somewhat educational. Click on the link below to watch the video. Thanks for watching and reading…
