This week’s post is short but mighty. Recently, Linda O’Neill, one of my photo buddies had some great news come her way. Truth be told she has been knocking them out of the park lately.
At one of the local photo clubs in Southwest Florida, she won first place with this winning photo:
Linda told me that she photographed this photo through a window. The home was an original “cracker house”. It was late in the afternoon as you can see from the photo, and she got some real nice afternoon light. The site where this was taken is haunted so there might be someone who is playing the violin, you just never know. She converted it into black and white to polish it off. Great job!
As a bonus, she handed me a calendar from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. They had found her photo online and worked out a deal so they could use it as the cover photo on their calendar.
One of the questions that has come up lately is “What are you going to do with all those photos?”. I guess the answer is…PUBLISH THEM? You never know where your photography is going to take you. A camera will unlock doors and allow you access to areas that might otherwise be inaccessible. I have met many very nice folks through photography that I otherwise wouldn’t have met. Even if all of the photos come out like crap, at least I have some really cool friends to show for it.
Leave Linda some love in the comments section below.
Until next time…
