It’s that time of year again. One day a year, photographers get together and finally try and figure out the age-old question…which is better, Nikon or Canon! Just kidding!
Scott Kelby’s fifth Worldwide Photo Walk is now scheduled. If you have never been on one of these, you are missing out. This will be my fourth year leading a walk and it’s always a fun time. Here’s the scoop for those of you who have never been on a walk. First, it’s FREE, finally, something that doesn’t cost $1,000! All over the world, there are walks that are going to happen on the same day. It’s basically an excuse for photographers to get together and discuss ideas and show what new toy tool that they just bought. After the walk, everyone is invited to meet at a café or restaurant and have dinner and/or drinks. So the only real cost is dinner if you choose.
This year I will be leading a group in Boca Grande, Florida. This is where the Bush’s stay when they want to “get away”. I have been told recently that the billionaires are pushing out the millionaires if that give you a clue. This is truly a unique place as its location. It has stunning sunsets; beaches and restaurants just to name a few. There is a $6 bridge toll and a $3 fee to enter the Gasparilla Park where the lighthouse is located.
By the way, since the island is so long, our “photo walk” will be more of a “photo drive”. We are meeting at the lighthouse first. The reason for this is due to parking. Parking can be a challenge on the island and there is a good size parking lot at the lighthouse for all of us to assemble. Afterwards, we will meet at Sisters Restaurant. I picked this restaurant as it offers something for everyone and the price per plate won’t leave your wallet sore.
Here is the link if you would like to sign up and walk with us. http://worldwidephotowalk.com/walk/boca-grande-fl-united-states-boca-grande-lighthouse/
There is a cap of 50 people for this walk, so I would recommend that you sign up earlier than later if you would like to join us. All of the details are on the page listed above. If you are reading this somewhere else in the world, check out: http://worldwidephotowalk.com and look under “Find Walk” and chances are that there is a walk scheduled in your area. If not, you may want to start one!
As always, I appreciate all of you who take the time out of your busy schedule to read these posts. I hope that they are educational as well as entertaining and I look forward to meeting some of you on our upcoming walk.
Until next time…
